Nieuwe Instituut is the Netherlands’ national museum for architecture, design and digital culture. Located in the city of architecture, Rotterdam, in the Museum Park with Kunsthal Rotterdam and Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen as neighbours, the Nieuwe Instituut has various exhibition spaces, a museum shop, a museum café (with the city’s loveliest terrace), an auditorium, educational spaces and a garden. The impressive architecture collection that the institute manages can be freely consulted in the Research Centre.

    Het Sonnevelthuis was zeer de moeite waard. De tentoonstellingen in het instituut waren niet de moeite van het bekijken waard. Op de tentoonstellingen zag je bijna niemand maar in het Sonnevelthuis was het druk.

    Het Nieuwe Instituut viel erg tegen. We hoopten meer over architectuur te zien. Maar daarover gaat dit museum nauwelijks. Een hele etage over hoodies, een grindbak met kaarsjes en een etage waar je je kunt verdiepen in ideeën van mensen die zich kunstenaar noemen. Het was mij de € 14,- niet waard. Daarentegen is het Sonneveldthuis erg interessant. Daar heb ik uiteindelijk de meeste tijd doorgebracht.
