The Stockholm City Museum (Stadsmuseet i Stockholm) is a museum in Stockholm in Sweden that illustrates the history of the Swedish capital from different perspectives. The museum is housed in the former Södra stadshuset on the island of Södermalm. Built between 1664 and 1680, the building has been listed as Byggnadsminne. The Stockholm City Museum displays various aspects of the city's development and houses an archive of over one million photographs of Stockholm. It has two permanent exhibitions, one called "The Stockholm Exhibition – Based on a true story" and the other one "About houses – Architecture & building preservation in Stock
