The Vasa Museum (Vasamuseet) is a maritime museum in Stockholm that is located on the island of Djurgården that houses the only fully intact seventeenth-century ship, the Vasa, which sank on her maiden voyage in 1628. The main hall of the Vasa Museum contains the ship itself, as well as exhibits related to the archaeological findings of the ships and early 17th-century Sweden and models portraying the construction, sinking, location and recovery of the ship. Furthermore, the museum features four other museum ships moored in the harbour outside: an ice breaker (1915), a lightvessel (1903), a torpedo boat (1966) and a rescue boat (1944).

The Vasa Museum in Stockholm, Sweden, is a remarkable maritime museum that houses the restored 17th-century warship Vasa. This impressive vessel, which sank on its maiden voyage in 1628 and was salvaged in 1961, is the centerpiece of the museum. Visitors can explore multiple levels of exhibits surrounding the ship, offering a comprehensive look at its history, construction, and the society of 17th-century Sweden.

The museum's main attraction is undoubtedly the Vasa ship itself, which is incredibly well-preserved and provides a tangible connection to the past. The museum does an excellent job of presenting the ship's story through informative displays, films, and interactive exhibits. Many visitors appreciate the attention to detail in the exhibits and the opportunity to see the ship from various angles.

While the museum generally receives high praise, some visitors note that it can get crowded, especially during peak tourist seasons. This can sometimes make it challenging to navigate through the exhibits or spend as much time as desired at each display. Additionally, a few visitors mention that the lighting in some areas could be improved for better visibility of the exhibits.

The museum offers guided tours and audio guides in multiple languages, which many find helpful in understanding the context and significance of the displays. However, some visitors feel that the additional cost for these services is a bit high.

Overall, the Vasa Museum provides a captivating experience for those interested in maritime history, archaeology, or Swedish culture. Its unique centerpiece and well-curated exhibits make it a standout attraction in Stockholm, despite minor crowding issues during busy periods.

The museum itself is fantastic. My son and I visited, and while we were looking at an exhibit, a tour group was right next to us. As the tour group moved on to the exhibit we were looking at, the tour group leader loudly announced to the group and EVERYONE around us that the discussion was only for tour group members and if we wished to have a tour we can purchase one at the desk. The tour group leader and group then stood around us until we felt so uncomfortable that we moved on. Such an unpleasant and embarrassing situation, ruined the day for us and we were so embarrassed that we left
