Dzaoudzi is a commune located in the French overseas department of Mayotte, situated in the Indian Ocean between Madagascar and the African mainland. This small but historically significant town was once the capital of Mayotte until 1977, when the administrative center was moved to Mamoudzou.

Located on the small island of Petite-Terre (also known as Pamanzi), Dzaoudzi is connected to Grande-Terre by boat services and serves as an important transportation hub, hosting Mayotte's main airport. The town retains traces of its colonial past through its architecture and military installations, including an old fortress that overlooks the lagoon.

While modest in size, Dzaoudzi plays a role in preserving the unique blend of African, French, and Malagasy cultural influences that characterize Mayotte's heritage.
