Nantgarw is a small village in South Wales, located north of Cardiff in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf. The village is particularly notable for its significant role in Welsh industrial heritage, especially in the field of ceramics.

In the early 19th century, Nantgarw was home to a famous porcelain works established by William Billingsley, where some of the finest porcelain in British ceramic history was produced. Though the original pottery operated only briefly from 1813 to 1823, its legacy continues to influence Welsh cultural heritage. Today, the site of the historic pottery houses the Nantgarw Chinaworks Museum, which preserves and showcases this important aspect of Welsh industrial and artistic history.

The village is situated in the Taff Valley, an area that played a crucial role in Wales's industrial development during the 18th and 19th centuries.

    Almost empty but not allowing guests in unless booked 24hrs in advance on their website that kept crashing. Staff were rude and unhelpful and no-one of seniority to complain to on site. Covid has robbed Caerphilly castle of common sense!
