More than 860 paintings and nearly 1,200 works on paper by Vincent van Gogh have been preserved. The Van Gogh Museum owns the largest Van Gogh collection, consisting of 201 paintings, 437 drawings and 31 prints. In addition to works by Van Gogh, the museum exhibits a collection of works by other major 19th century artists such as Paul Gauguin, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Claude Monet and owns about five hundred Japanese prints that were collected by Vincent van Gogh and his brother Theo.

De tentoonstelling Easy Virtue of Lichte Zeden bekeken. Het Van Gogh Museum heeft hier waanzinnig veel bruiklenen bij elkaar gekregen uit vele grote musea. Voor de liefhebbers van Edgar Degas en Henri de Toulouse Lautrec valt er veel te zien, ook een paar mooie Sluijters en van Dongen. Van Gogh zelf komt er zeer bekaaid af maar die kun je in de vaste opstelling voldoende zien. Voor mij was het hoogtepunt het portret van Gustave Coquiot door Picasso dat hij op 20 jarige leeftijd in Parijs had gemaakt.
Het was er niet druk dus je hebt goed de mogelijkheid om de werken te bestuderen.

Leuk en mooi modern museum. Goede tentoongestelde werken en erg overzichtelijk. Het is aan te raden voor bezoek kaarten te bestellen zodat je niet hoeft te wachten!

Very nice museum with beautiful work by Vincent van Gogh, paired with his life story. Both interesting and engaging. The only drawback is the long queue to get in. I would definitely recommend going here if you’re visiting Amsterdam!

Mooi museum, maar erg druk. Het museum bezit veel mooie schilderijen van de Nederlandse kunstschilder Vincent van Gogh, maar laat je ook kennis maken met zijn leven.

Erg mooi museum met interessante schilderijen waar de heldere kleuren van afspatten. Dit museum heeft de mooiste schilderijen van van Gogh en is daarom zeker een must see!
