Barcelona is the second largest city of Spain and is the capital of Catalonia, situated on the northeastern Mediterranean coast op Spain, on a plain mostly surrounded by the mountain range of Collserola. Not only this work by Gaudí is listed as UNESCO World Heritage, also 6 other buildings in or near Barcelona are listed: Casa Milà and Casa Batlló in Eixample, Palau Güell in Ciutat Vella, Casa Vicens and Parc Güell in Gràcia and Gaudí's Crypt in Colònia Güell.

Besides this 2 works by the Catalan art nouveau architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner are listed as World heritage: Hospital de Sant Pau in Eixample and Palau de la Música Catalana in Ciutat Vella.

  • The MEAM was a really nice museum. It’s not really that large but It holds a nice collection of modern art. It well exceeded our expectations. Situated close to Museu Picasso, it provided a nice change to his works (which are of course also great!).
