Kinglake is a rural town located in the Australian state of Victoria, approximately 56 kilometers northeast of Melbourne. The town sits at an elevation of around 550 meters in the Great Dividing Range, surrounded by the Kinglake National Park, which is one of Victoria's largest and most diverse conservation areas.

The area has a rich history tied to early European settlement and the gold rush era, with the town being named after British historian Alexander William Kinglake. The region is known for its natural beauty, native wildlife, and outdoor recreational opportunities.

In 2009, Kinglake gained national attention when it was severely impacted by the Black Saturday bushfires, but the community has since demonstrated remarkable resilience in its recovery and rebuilding efforts.
