Peruíbe is a coastal municipality located in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The city is known for its extensive beaches, natural preservation areas, and ecological tourism.

The region has significant historical importance as it was home to indigenous peoples, particularly the Tupi tribes, before Portuguese colonization. The name "Peruíbe" itself comes from the Tupi language, meaning "where there are preys in abundance." The city preserves part of its indigenous heritage through archaeological sites and the Taniguá Indian Reserve.

Today, Peruíbe combines its historical legacy with modern beach tourism, while also maintaining important natural reserves like the Juréia-Itatins Ecological Station, which showcases the region's rich biodiversity and Atlantic Forest ecosystems.
