The Amsterdam Museum is housed in a building that used to be the St. Lucien Monastery in the Middle Ages. The museum is dedicated to the city of Amsterdam. The story is told of how Amsterdam grew from a small village next to a river to a metropolis. The diverse collection consists of over 75,000 objects and includes paintings, sculptures, applied arts, drawings, prints, books, textiles, furniture, ceramics, glass objects, archaeological finds and other objects related to the history of Amsterdam.

An interesting and interactive museum, without it being childish or annoying (which normally is the case with interactive museums). Great to visit if you want to learn more about Amsterdam!

In het Amsterdam Museum wordt op een interactieve, leuke manier de geschiedenis van Amsterdam behandeld. Leuk om zo alles te weten te komen over onze hoofdstad. Zelfs voor Amsterdammers volgens mij leuk en leerzaam.
