The Musée Carnavalet is the museum in Paris for the history of the city with a very wide collection. The museum consists of the Hôtel de Carnavalet and the Hôtel Le Peletier de Saint-Fargeau, together accounting for around a hundred rooms. The Hôtel Carnavalet was built in 1548 by Count Jacques des Ligneris, the then President of the Parliament of Paris. The museum chronicles the history of Paris from its origins to the present day.
