Originally a railway station, this Beaux-Arts building now houses Musée d'Orsay, one of the largest art museums in Europe. The Musée d'Orsay in Paris is an art museum that covers the history of Western art between 1848 and 1914, with a strong emphasis on 19th-century French art. The museum has a renowned collection of impressionist works but also houses sculpture and applied art. Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Édouard Manet and Claude Monet – this is only a handful of artists whose masterpieces are on display here.
