SeaTac is a relatively young city in King County, Washington state, that was incorporated in 1990. Named after the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport which occupies a significant portion of its area, the city serves as an important transportation hub for the Pacific Northwest region. Located between the major cities of Seattle and Tacoma, SeaTac has developed into a diverse suburban community with approximately 30,000 residents.
The city's identity is closely tied to the aviation industry, but it also features several parks and recreational areas that serve the local community. While primarily known for its transportation infrastructure, SeaTac has developed its own cultural identity influenced by its diverse population and its position within the greater Seattle metropolitan area.
